Turbulence Training 5th Transformation Contest – end of week 11

August 12, 2009 at 6:15 pm 4 comments

I have just finished week 11 of the 12-week Turbulence Training 5th Transformation Challenge. After a shaky start, I managed to regroup for the second half of last week and finished just 0.4 pounds up on the week before. Body fat was down 0.1% and measurements were the same or up 0.5 cm (arm, thigh, knee).

I only managed one TT session in the end but did hit my other exercise goals, managing over 5 hours exercise of which 1 hour 55 mins was of moderate intensity non-TT activity. Now that I am getting to exercise at work – mostly low intensity stuff – I am going to up my exercise target for the week. I also got to bed by 11.30 three times and meditated once.

Specific goals for week 12:

  1. Do three TT workouts
  2. Do at least six hours exercise
  3. Get at least 2 hours of moderate intensity non-TT activity
  4. Drink at least a litre of water a day
  5. Eat clean this week – no more sweets etc
  6. Get to bed by 11.30pm four times
  7. Submit final photos and essay

So Angie since you have almost completed the 12 weeks how do you feel? Was the contest worth it? You must feel that you have learned lots about your self that will help you reach you goal weight.

I remember you said that you had a hard time completing one 4 week set of set now you are hitting week 12. That is a pretty good accomplishment.

Are you going to post you before and after pictures?

    Keep working hard.

      Hi Rob,

Yes, the contest was worth it. It provided me with a medium-term time frame on which to focus goals. My workouts have slipped the last couple of weeks, so I will be about a week and a half to two weeks short of finishing the third programme by the end of the contest, but 10 weeks straight is pretty good for me. The TT forums have been fantastic – partly for the support I have received from other people, but interestingly, I have gained more strength I think from the support I have been able to give other people. I will post my before and afters, although they will not be pretty – I still have a long way to go, but I think my shape has changed, particularly my legs. It has certainly changed since the beginning of the year – I only wish I had photos and measurements from January. I know I would have got better results if I had been eating clean all the time, but I know that is something I would struggle to maintain so I made a conscious decision not to do anything just for a contest that I would then ‘fall off the rails’ afterwards. It has no doubt slowed down my progress, but I am at least moving in the right direction.

I am pretty proud of your efforts throughout the contest. I am sure that you take a lot away from the whole experience.

I heard that they will be running another contest later this year. If they do I going to enter. You have inspired me to give it a try.

Thanks, that is so nice. The 6th Transformation Contest will be starting on 31st August – that’s the first date to register. I haven’t decided yet whether or not to do another one. I’m itching to give NROL a go.
