I JOGGED!!!

I jogged!!! OMG! I never thought it would happen. I haven’t jogged since….well, ever. Not since I was a kiddie, before jogging was invented. And today I did it. Jogged! Rolls of blubber, bad knee and all.

Yesterday I finished the 4-week Turbulence Training Beginners Workout. Today was day one of the 4-week intermediate workout. When it came to my intervals, I needed to do 30 seconds at an RPE of 9. To get RPE 8 I had been walking at 4.8 kph (3mph) on a 15% incline, but that is as high as my treadmill goes. And to walk much faster would be a bit jarring.

Actually, now I think of it, I could have reduced the incline and increased my walking speed. Which is what I did, but to an extreme. I set the incline at 0 and come ‘hard’ interval time, I just pushed the 8 kph button (5 mph) and jogged. For 30 seconds. 90 second recovery interval, then did it again. A total of 6 times. I jogged for *3 minutes*. And I was so happy I wanted to cry. Thank you, Craig Ballantyne, for getting me here. I can die happy now. I may never walk again, but it’s a small price to pay for what was something of a religious experience. Can’t wait till next time!

Thanks Marianne. And my knee has even stopped throbbing now! Will see how it feels tomorrow. This revolution may be over even before it has begun…

Thanks Vilma, and good luck with the workout. The stability ball jack-knife is, surprisingly, kind of fun, but those leg curls suck big time!

Tu español es mejor que mi inglés!

Yes, it’s working now. And no, I don’t understand a word of you blog. Well, maybe the odd word.

You are obviously much cleverer than me!
