Joe’s Goals
I’ve been a bit ill the last couple of days with my asthma playing up. Rather than acute attacks, I’ve just been finding it hard to breathe much of the time, even when using preventer and reliever medication. As a result, I’ve been taking it easy and I had to take today off work. I’ve also not been exercising.
Instead, I’ve been concentrating on other goals, and I’ve been keeping tabs on my key objectives on a really cool website called Joe’s Goals. You can set up a score card for yourself, fill in your own objectives, either good things to do or bad things to avoid, decide how many points each one is worth and keep track of it all in real time. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can post my score card on the blog. But I can tell you about it.
My ‘good’ goals, all worth one point, are cardio, strength, and mind-body exercise, staying within my Weight Watchers point allowance for the day, juicing, and flossing at night. My ‘bad’ items are eating out/ordering in worth minus one point, and going to bed after midnight, which is a constant thing for me and not conducive to a productive day at work, so I’ve counted that as minus two.
In the last week, I’ve only managed one cardio session, one weights session, and no mind-body. But I’ve done better with everything else. I’ve stayed within my WW points allowance five days out of seven (and one day was only 1/2 point over), juiced everyday, flossed everyday, and eaten junk food once (peking duck actually – lots of peking duck). As for going to bed before midnight. I’m zero for seven. That will be my mission for the next seven days, trying to improve on zero. At least there’s plenty of scope for improvement! ‘night all.
