Cracked 15 Stone
Weigh day today and came in at 208.6 lbs. In the British system, this is 14 stone 12.6 pounds. A stone is an old imperial measure still used in the UK, and it’s equivalent to 14 pounds. I have been over 15 stone (210 lbs) for quite a while now, so cracking the 15 stone barrier is a big psychological mile stone for me. The lowest I’ve been in the last couple of years was 14 stone 7, and that was after a week’s juice-only detox. It all went on again within a few days. So that’s my next mini-goal. Five and a half pounds to go.
Exercise has been good this week, and I am completely on schedule. Eighteen days into my new plan and I have ticked off every single workout. I am very proud of myself for this and looking forward to doing 4 weeks without missing a workout. In the Weight Watchers system, I clocked 23 exercise bonus points last week and am set to beat that this week.
Also on the points front, going below 15 stone means my daily allowance goes down a point. I have been struggling to eat 23 points (my previous allowance) every day because I eat so much plant-based food, which is point-free. I know from experience that coming in too low beneath your allowance on a regular basis tends to slow weight loss rather than speed it up as it slows down your metabolism. So I’ve been making up my points with a variety of not-so-healthy foods. Desserts, WW chocolate bars, glass of wine with dinner. Two or three ‘treats’ a day sometimes. So I’m glad to come down to an allowance of 22 points, although I think I’ll keep the glass of wine with dinner – very civilised.
